On 23 and 25 March, ESCWA in partnership with the UNFCCC Secretariat, the Regional Collaboration Centre for the Middle-East, North Africa and South Asia (RCC Dubai) and the UNEP Regional Office held the second technical meeting of the second phase of the Lima Adaptation Knowledge Initiative (LAKI) in the region.
This meeting comes after a series of consultations and activities with expert organizations in the region, aimed at developing action plans for increasing knowledge on water resources management, food security, climate-smart agriculture, coastal/marine ecosystems and drought management in the region.
The regional outcomes of LAKI will be showcased during the next UN Climate Change Conference COP 26 in November 2021, and the MENA Climate Week in March 2022.
