In preparation for the Regional Review on the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), the League of Arab States (LAS) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in cooperation with the Regional UN Network on Migration in the Arab Region, organized consultations with the Member States on the modalities of the Regional Review Conference.
The consultations included updates on the Regional Review processes in other regions, in addition to epidemiological updates and the current status of mobility restrictions in the region, as well as a proposed approach to the Regional Review Conference in the Arab region.
Member States also discussed the preferred modalities of the Regional Review Conference of the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
